Super Cute Cutouts!

Image
Well, I wasn’t going to make a new door d é cor but then Carson Dellosa sent me some treats! There are so many cute cutouts! I have a polka dot theme in my classroom, so the confetti and the fans are perfect for that! I have seen all the cute door ideas on Instagram and decided to use my cricut maker and the cutouts! I went with the saying “You’ll always have a SPOT in my heart!” Then I’m going to add the names of my kinders to the spots and decorate the door. I like both the confetti ones and the fans – might do a combination of both. The left over ones I think I will use to label spots in the room for centers. Now, my biggest issue will be putting the background paper on the door. Anyone have any easy solutions for that? Or is it just cause I'm so clumsy and awkward? I was thinking of trying a plastic tablecloth. Not sure. Can't take stuff of of that without ripping it. I'll keep you posted!               There are so man...

Aim High!

Are you thinking about it? Has it crept into your thoughts? Did you start dreaming about it yet? Did you start shopping?  Do I mention it? Back to school! LOL I have done a few projects. I have done some thinking. I have also realized I do MUCH better with a schedule! We are empty nesters this summer. First summer in 23 years. It is so quiet! It is so peaceful. I have totally relaxed and enjoyed the quiet.   We know that July is the Saturday of the weekend. It is early July – so it is still morning time. Here’s hoping that I can get some more things done on the to do list! Well, since we started talking about BTS, let me tell you about @carson-dellosa’s AIM HIGH collection! So perfect for working with growth mindset! The colors are beautiful. They are bright yet subtle all at once. The mini bulletin board set has TONS! It has a header, inspirational arrows, blank arrows, targets in different sizes, and student pieces. I don’t know if I would consider that mini. That i...

Weekend Happiness

Image
Oh the happiness of a clean cabinet! I moved schools over the summer. We were given time to unpack, but I was shortened by two weeks. They needed to get rid of some "small visitors". I already had plans to go away - so I did. But it just meant unpacking faster and messier than I had planned. I shoved things in the closets to get the boxes emptied. I had started out a little neater, but then they said stay home and away from your room. So I shoved it all in! :-(  It's hot in the building on the weekend. I just couldn't bring myself to go in in that heat. Plus I think I might be getting hot flashes! :-0 So this Saturday I decided I wanted needed to go in! I knew my center signs were in there somewhere! I FOUND THEM!! YEA!! I pulled everything out of the cabinet and "organized" it by topic - abc's, beginning sounds, rhyming, general materials - on the tables. Then I put it all back neatly. I cleaned out too!!! I filled 3/4 of the recycling can! Yee haw...

Beginning of School

What a beginning of the school year! I love that we start with 2 four day weeks - it makes it easier on all of us:) But 2 four day weekends!! That is crazy! We had our first week - which I also love! First day - meet the kids and I get to talk to the parents. 2nd and 3rd day - 1/2 the class comes each day. Makes it much easier to teach the first things we need to learn. The 4th day - we are all together:) Then 4 day Labor Day weekend! Good for all of us. Then we had 2 days to start the next week and 2 days off because of flooding! CRAZY!! The 2 days we were in were also indoor recess. Boo hoo! So we had another 4 day weekend. This could prove to be a long 5 day week. We have not built up any stamina! It will come, but it will take awhile. I'm hoping for sunshine all week so we can at least get out to recess. There were a couple criers - they were pretty good on Wednesday but I have a fear that it will start over on Monday when we go back. All will be fine - eventually. :) We are wo...
