Finished Classroom (?)










It is ready to go. Well, at least for now. Is a classroom every done?? The desk is still a little messy but most everything is done! Now it is just getting the materials ready for the kids. 26 students and counting.... can't wait to meet them all! :) Don't tell my hubby, but I bought new material to make curtains... hope to get them done before Monday.... keep your fingers crossed.

    How fun to look at your classroom. This is my 4th week, but I remember well the excitement of getting ready. What am I saying??? We're always getting ready, aren't we?
    Question -- do you use the tape on the tables to differentiate where each child sits? Is it working well? I need to have 5 children at each table, but I'm thinking I might give it a try. Especially the side of the table that has three children on it.
    And now I want to seriously colorize each table, too. Thanks!

    Hi- I do use the tape on the desk to help learn about and visual personal space. It does help. They do pick at it - even though we talk about leaving it alone... 5 at a table is hard! It might help for them to understand though a little... Keep me posted how it is working. I could have 2 tables with 5 but I added 2 desks at the end of a table. Glad you enjoyed looking:) I love the colors:)

I am using the @Carson-Dellosa Publishing Big Gun Ball Machine Bulletin Board set. It is very colorful and cute!   It came with the gum ball machine, an overlay for the machine door, a bubble gum header and 32 gumballs in bright colors.   It also has a reproducible of a gumball machine. I am using it in my classroom as an incentive for reading! I have written the student’s names on the gumballs. I put the names on with clips. I emailed all of the staff at my school and let them know about this bulletin board as you walk into my classroom. The staff can pick a student’s name off the machine and get that kid to read them a book from their book baggie in their chair pockets.   I put a small box on the bulletin board for the “used gumballs”! That way all of the children will get picked before a second round. Clutter Free Classroom Assignment

The Closet Abyss!This is the closet with the language arts materials - alphabet recognition, rhyming, beginning and ending sounds, sight words, oh my! It was looking better till I bought more stuff and tried to put it in here! It is somewhat organized- rhyming stuff on one shelf, abc stuff on another, sight words on another, for the most part!This is the only large cabinet I have like this. :(   Is it any wonder why I don't use all that I have? AND when summer gets here - everything in the classroom has to be packed away - which means even more is shoved into all these closets! This is above the hooks for the kid's coats. It is organized but not pretty. These cabinets hold my literature. The bags are letter bags. I have one for each letter. The other stuff on top is stuff that doesn't fit into a cabinet. STEM Challenge

STEM! I love doing hands on activities with the students! Always have. Just ask the husband who has made, carried, or bought tons over the years. He’s a keeper! Anyway – I was a little nervous at first when Carson Dellosa sent me their new Stem Challenge cards. The box said Grades 2-5. L I teach kindergarten.   But guess what??? They will be fine for us! They will not be independent cards, but we can still use them! The CCS have upped the rigor for science, so my teaching BFF’s and I have been working through what we need to add and change. These will be great! There are two different versions – STEM Challenges and STEM Challenges Seasonal. So I opened up the seasonal first. Three tabs in the box – Spring/Summer, Winter, Autumn. I was thrown off when there was nothing behind the Autumn tab. Then I realized that the cards are in FRONT of the tabs. (I may have been sitting outside in the sun too long!
