2015 Goals Linky


2015? How did that happen? I can't believe it! I know we say that every year, but really? Time really flies! 
So I thought I should start the year off with good intentions and write a blog post. Thank you Jessica at http://www.firstgradenest.com/

I would love to bump up the small group instruction - both guided reading and math! How to get those math groups started? Finding the time, the energy, the support to get them going! I would love to them set up.... Here's hoping! 
Ok what I would REALLY love to get done this year is to get my new classroom organized! I moved into the school in August. I was suppose to have two extra weeks to unpack, but since there were little creatures living in our school that needed to be removed! So I didn't get to unpack and organize it the way I wanted to! So I'm hoping to find/make the time to organize the cupboards and closets and drawers in my classroom. I am soooooo tired of looking for something and not finding it! I'll get there. I'll get there. I'll get there. 
ENGLAND! Planning on getting there this spring! WOO HOO!! 

 
I would love to blog more, scrapbook more and read more! When someone finds the way to get extra hours in the day - PLEASE let me know how! lol

OK - these are some big goals! Hope to see you all before 2016! lol

The Closet Abyss!This is the closet with the language arts materials - alphabet recognition, rhyming, beginning and ending sounds, sight words, oh my! It was looking better till I bought more stuff and tried to put it in here! It is somewhat organized- rhyming stuff on one shelf, abc stuff on another, sight words on another, for the most part!This is the only large cabinet I have like this. :(   Is it any wonder why I don't use all that I have? Chapter 3

What should your math work stations, look like, sound like and feel like?   I have not done math stations this year. That is the plan for next year:) I hope they look like the ones in this book!! lol I do want to make sure that I MODEL all the materials before I put them out in the stations. I want them to be a great place for the students to work and learn and have fun. What does your management board look like? I will be making a pocket chart- I think. I will be using their pictures for the board. I want to see some more ideas from all the other great bloggers. How do you support math vocabulary (math talk cards) in your stations?   WOW - do I need to work on this. I have thought about making a word wall of sorts with math vocab. I want to add more of this and make sure that it is included in the stations. February Currently

It's February!!!  Oh my! It's February already! January went by fast! And we had NO snow days! A few delays and one early dismissal but no snow days! I'm glad! We have several built into the calendar and I would like those off. Then I can do what I want and have fun. I know! Snow days are fun too! But I'm hoping not to lose the make up days at Easter cause I don't want to use too many personal days! lol Well, this is always fun to link up with Farley at  http://ohboy3rdgrade.blogspot.com/2015/01/currently-february.html LISTENING - yes, the Super Bowl is on! It's been going on all day. Finally at the kickoff! My NY Giants aren't playing this year, so I'm not really caring which team wins.
