Aim High!

Are you thinking about it? Has it crept into your thoughts? Did you start dreaming about it yet? Did you start shopping?  Do I mention it? Back to school! LOL

I have done a few projects. I have done some thinking. I have also realized I do MUCH better with a schedule! We are empty nesters this summer. First summer in 23 years. It is so quiet! It is so peaceful. I have totally relaxed and enjoyed the quiet.  We know that July is the Saturday of the weekend. It is early July – so it is still morning time. Here’s hoping that I can get some more things done on the to do list!

Well, since we started talking about BTS, let me tell you about @carson-dellosa’s AIM HIGH collection! So perfect for working with growth mindset! The colors are beautiful. They are bright yet subtle all at once. The mini bulletin board set has TONS! It has a header, inspirational arrows, blank arrows, targets in different sizes, and student pieces. I don’t know if I would consider that mini. That is a great value!



 There are so many coordinating items to go with it too. There are badges, frames, hexagons, confetti and more arrows. The possibilities are endless with this set. Growth mindset bulletin boards with their goals and achievements. The smaller arrows could be reminders to the students to keep aiming high. The confetti, hexagons and badges make great coordinated labels for supplies, cubbies, etc. The badges could name tags or used to show off student work. What kid wouldn’t want a badge! 


This is a very modern set- so cool and comforting on the eyes. I can see this set being used throughout the grade levels. I know my daughter who teaches high school was eyeing it up! There are SO many coordinating things on the website! I love when all things coordinate! Borders, letters, charts! OH MY! Sorry I'm not in school to get a real bulletin board done to show you all. 

After looking at this set, I’m ALMOST ready to start thinking about BTS. ;-) Time to go shopping and check it out!

I am using the @Carson-Dellosa Publishing Big Gun Ball Machine Bulletin Board set. It is very colorful and cute!   It came with the gum ball machine, an overlay for the machine door, a bubble gum header and 32 gumballs in bright colors.   It also has a reproducible of a gumball machine. I am using it in my classroom as an incentive for reading! I have written the student’s names on the gumballs. I put the names on with clips. I emailed all of the staff at my school and let them know about this bulletin board as you walk into my classroom. The staff can pick a student’s name off the machine and get that kid to read them a book from their book baggie in their chair pockets.   I put a small box on the bulletin board for the “used gumballs”! Clutter Free Classroom Assignment

The Closet Abyss!This is the closet with the language arts materials - alphabet recognition, rhyming, beginning and ending sounds, sight words, oh my! It was looking better till I bought more stuff and tried to put it in here! It is somewhat organized- rhyming stuff on one shelf, abc stuff on another, sight words on another, for the most part!This is the only large cabinet I have like this. :(   Is it any wonder why I don't use all that I have? AND when summer gets here - everything in the classroom has to be packed away - which means even more is shoved into all these closets! This is above the hooks for the kid's coats. It is organized but not pretty. These cabinets hold my literature. The bags are letter bags. I have one for each letter. The other stuff on top is stuff that doesn't fit into a cabinet. STEM Challenge

STEM! I love doing hands on activities with the students! Always have. Just ask the husband who has made, carried, or bought tons over the years. He’s a keeper! Anyway – I was a little nervous at first when Carson Dellosa sent me their new Stem Challenge cards. The box said Grades 2-5. L I teach kindergarten.   But guess what??? They will be fine for us! They will not be independent cards, but we can still use them! The CCS have upped the rigor for science, so my teaching BFF’s and I have been working through what we need to add and change. These will be great! There are two different versions – STEM Challenges and STEM Challenges Seasonal. So I opened up the seasonal first. Three tabs in the box – Spring/Summer, Winter, Autumn. I was thrown off when there was nothing behind the Autumn tab. Then I realized that the cards are in FRONT of the tabs. (I may have been sitting outside in the sun too long!
